38.09 Very Pragmatic
“Very Pragmatic” It’s true. They were either too busy fighting the raiders or trapped under rubble after the encounter with the dragon. If they weren’t… well, who knows what would have happened.
Be careful out there.

Panel 1
From inside a guest room at the White Bear tavern, Fip is sitting on the floor in front of the bedside drawer, viewed from the waist up. Several tankards are on the drawer's top surface, all save one set up on a tray. Fip's view of Nak (offscreen), is obstructed by Puccini. Holding a bowl of stew up and out of the way, the gobo tries to look to the right of the wizard...
Nak, offscreen: "<But Fip has a point. They did not attack us at the Hook's fort.>"
Panel 2
...and then to the left as Puccini steps away from the corner and moves towards the center of the room. Fip's expression brightens as Nak (offsceen) voices support for the archer's comment.
Nak, offscreen: "<Or at the Dragon's lair.>"
Panel 3
So content with the commentary, Fip's focus shifts to what is in the bowl, dipping a spoon into the stew. The gobo doesn't even register the wizard's departure to the other side of the room, the corner of his cloak the only thing still in view.
Nak, offscreen: "<Then again...>"
Panel 4
It is only moments later that Fip realizes that the conclusion Nak (offscreen) presents designates the gobo's theory as inconclusive. Fip looks more perturbed than defeated and the spoonful of stew drips as the utensil dips, having only made it halfway up to the gobo's mouth.
Nak, offscreen: "<It would not have been advantageous to do so at that time.>"
