“Plots Thicken” We don’t need to see all the gory details. With the look of these four, they came out of it relatively unscathed. Physically at least… Nab isn’t dealing well with first contact it seems.

Warning: Things will get more extreme/intense than usual from episode 42.08 through to episode 45.11.

Be careful out there.

Panel 1
From around the corner and out of the darkness on the right arrive Pōk's three companions: Nik hugs that corner and charges in, the right dagger held high to just block an unseen human's pickaxe from doing more than a small cut while the left slashes across the body at the attacker's knee or hamstrings, arcing a line of blood. Pōk has went low on Nik's right side, readying a quick spear thrust. Behind them, Tik and Nab approach, the former more quickly than the latter, who appears uncertain of the outcome compared to the others.
Nob, narrates: "<It was quick.>"

Panel 2
In an unlit passage way, Nab glances back in the direction of their most recent fight. The gobo seems out of it while speaking (wordlessly) with Tik, who has both hands on Nab's shoulders, offering reassurance. Pōk is only a couple paces further, taking in the exchange with a sympathetic look. At the far end of the tunnel at a natural T-junction is Nik, who is flabbergasted at the delay, gesturing down the left path.
Nob, narrates: "<Too quick. We would find the real threat later.>"

Panel 3
Later down that passage, Nab gets ready, having removed the backpack and setting it against the wall a distance away from a wooden door set into a roughly hewn hallway wall. The gobo observes Nik, who is crouched and leaning back against the door, gesturing for the gobo to approach and pointing upward. About eye level to a human is set a rectangular opening with two bars.
Unseen individual, voice muffled by door: "<You should have found them by now. Leave the miners to us. Stick to your task.>"

Panel 4
In a close-up, Nab pulls up on the opening as Nik - with some effort - lifts the gobo with one arm around a leg and the other on the hip. The room is dark and blocked from view by Nab's head.
Unseen individual, voice clear: "<Find them. And don't eat them.>"
