43.02 Golden Scepter
“Golden Scepter” Not a lot made it through the spell effect, and much of it and those few gobos along the edge were lost in some way. However there were a few items made it through. We haven’t seen this scepter in a while. Last time it was seen (and almost used) was when the gobos first met Puccini.
Warning: Things will get more extreme/intense than usual from episode 42.08 through to episode 45.11.

Panel 1
The floor of the cave is seen from Nab's point of view in a seated position, holding the bell-top from Dūm's staff. While the golden bell appears to be quite plain on the outside, there is a fine engraved pattern on the inside. On the floor by Nab's feet are a number of personal items. Those shown in clockwise order from the bottom left are as follows: a severed belt with a golden oval buckle engraved with a fire under a three peaked mountain, a crested sallet with a mossy green mane that has been cleanly split on the left side set on top of a two-handed sword with a skull pommel that has had its blade cut short, a golden amulet with two connecting hearts that has had the lower right slashed off, A curved ivory smoking pipe carved to resemble a gobo holding a dagger, and a book missing its upper right corner, embossed in gold with a portrait of a gobo in fancy clothing.
Panel 2
The angle changes and pulls back from Nab, sitting on the flattened base of a stalagmite. A voice from the right has pulled the forlorn gobo's attention away from the bell.
Rek, offscreen: "<Drop that!>"
Panel 3
Having almost completed setting down the bell, Nab tenses and watches as a whirling golden object is thrown by Rek (offscreen), aimed at the gobos head and upper torso. The right hand releases the bell just before it touches the ground while the other is brought up defensively...
Rek, offscreen: "<Now catch!>"
Panel 4
...and catches with a "Nab!" a golden scepter. Nab's eyes were closed shut but the left creaks open to examine it.
Rek, offscreen: "Had no need for that since the war started...>"

…I’ll admit, I’m still having trouble seeing how Zap died.
Unlike Dūm, Zap fell down way further from the edge, and the cut looks so clean…
Just how thick was the magic’s “edge”, literal meters? No less sharp for it, it seems.
Unless of course “lost” actually *isn’t* an euphemism for “died” …but that’d be cope on my part.
