Happy Valentine’s Day

2018 Valentine's DayHappy Valentine’s Day everyone! As mentioned in the previous post, Gobo Gazette has its very own Instagram page. That page will be updated at least once a month with Gobo-loaded images. Today’s image is the first, not counting the banner image created for all Gobo sites. Almost every one of these images – if not all – will be non-canon images. The Valentine’s Day image is no exception, although it does reference the “relationship” the gobos have with spiders in these three comics. It is also very similar to a 2017 Inktober image I created.

April will be a big month for both Gobo Gazette and its Instagram page. That month will see quite a number of images. Why, you might ask? You’ll just have to stop in and find out.

Instagram Launch

Instagram Launch ImageGobo Gazette is proud to announce its Instagram launch. The comic will only be published on this website. Other Gobo Gazette-related images will appear here and on our Instagram page.

There are a few things we are planning for Instagram. First, the page will display at least one new image each month. In addition to these, visitor will see variant cast images. Of course, all of the official introductions will occur prior to these visuals. Inktober 2017 was my first time participating in that drawing challenge and 2018 might see a gobo-centric series of images. Lastly, readers may get to see development artwork. This might even include videos. Emphasis on the might. We shall see.

Increased awareness is the big reason for all this social media. Therefore, I ask all readers to follow the website. Share it with your friends, re-tweet on your Twitter account. Whatever it takes to get eyes on these little guys.

Coming Soon

Coming Soon: A Crude Comic about Crude Goblins!

Coming soon on January 5, 2018 is the proposed launch date of my new web comic! Gobo Gazette documents the misadventures of a band of goblins who are often their own worst enemies. It is a gag strip with an ongoing plot line, featuring mild fantasy/comedic violence and likely alcohol and tobacco use.

It is also an exercise in expanding my illustrative technique. When it comes to illustrating, I can spend hours nitpicking and fine-tuning. And I would never be 100% satisfied. My first attempt at a comic was back in 2001. It was an obscure piece called Your Comic’s Weak, catering to members of a personal website/forum. It was done in my spare time with little direction and lasted less than a year.

Time might still be sparse and there wasn’t much lead time preparations to perfect the style of the comic, but Gobo Gazette does have direction. I am hoping that the look of the strips will improve steadily. (Disclaimer: I reserve the right to “George Lucas” older strips as skill and technique improve, although I will still keep the original art available for prosperity.)

The website will be undergoing development before and after launch as I tweak the look and interface. This may take some time since my coding is not up to date and I am still familiarizing myself with the content management system. So… mind my dust.
