“Empty Handed” And lo, the hunters have returned to camp with the spoils of their labor. Or the lack of as in this case. Of course, this is just one of many forays into the wild. If there is one thing I have learned from my hunting pals is that there are usually peak hours for hunting certain animals but that doesn’t mean that you cant spot a lone deer at any given hour of the day. I mean, we are quite active throughout the day and so are animals, for the most part. There are some exceptions.
This is probably not the first time that one of the hunters had come back empty handed. I am sure that there have been times that both have been unsuccessful in their hunt. Pat seems quite capable of foraging for berries, root vegetables or other sources of nutrition to keep the group going. Or perhaps the cook sets aside a portion of the meal to be turned to jerky. Either way, Pat is not too surprised to learn that Fip was the sole bread winner (bunny winner?). Fip on the other hand is quite taken aback. This is a new experience for the emerald archer. And, it would seem, arduous training in archery will be another.
Be careful out there.
