Gobo Gazette is Temporary Emergency Hiatus Go! But before we get to that, let’s talk about some smurfy inspiration. If we are doing a Q&A, we should start at the beginning. And that would be newspaper comics and cartoons. Specifically, the Smurfs! The details are in the transcript as well as the image. We also have a bonus Fandom Funtime! segment to test your knowledge of Gobo Gazette. As might notice, one of the gobos has the same tattoo as Hefty!

I am out of commission (you can read more about this here) but I can still answer your questions. Perhaps this Friday update has filled you with some smurfy inspiration! Did you have any question regarding Gobo Gazette? This could be for me or for members of the cast (no spoilers). Do you like to fanart? If you do or want to, now is the time to share! Send your questions and/or fan art to gobo@gobogazette.com! If you like, provide a link if your webcomic, portfolio, or similar creative site. Once the hiatus is over, I’ll more it all to a gallery section and Gobo Gazette will be back in action.

Partake in Gobo Gazette’s first Temporary Emergency Hiatus Go! And be careful out there!

↓ Transcript
Announcement banner with content on white background and a panel to the right. There is a watermarked illustration of Gobos and Puccini beneath it.
Content: "Gobo Gazette - Temporary Emergency Hiatus GO! - We're hoping to return in January 2023!"
Announcement panel has Nob's hands from the gobo leader's point of view, the right hand visually aching with three lightning bolts.
Nob (as the artist): "<My hand. It broke!>"

Large Left Panel
"A number of people have asked where I got the idea for Gobo Gazette. So, our first filler Q & A will be based on that!"
"I got a lot of inspiration from Newpaper comics, which explains the old school panel layout. The gobos draw from a number of sources - comic and cartoon - but the biggest influence would be the Smurfs, created by Peyo."
(Left images of first year art of Bam - jumping with mace held high - next to Hefty Smurf, posing with back to view, looking over the heart tattoo on his right shoulder as he flexes his muscles.)
"Early gobo art shares similar proportions with the smurfs and typically had one distinguishing feature to set them apart from the others."
(Right image of fourth year art of a happy Bam running right.)
"Gobo Gazette has been around since the first week of 2018 and the gobos have gone through a few changes as the comic nears the five year mark. The most noticeable change is a more balanced body: a smaller head with longer limbs. More on Smurfy inspiration next time!"
