“Dropping Eaves” Thinking of all the times someone could have eavesdropped on your private conversations can make you paranoid. Yes Nak, they could have listened in during any of these moments.

I hope all our American readers had a Happy Thanksgiving.

Be careful out there.

Panel 1
From inside a guest room at the White Bear tavern, Hob and Nak are sitting on the floor with their backs against the lower end of the bed. Both are engaged in a conversation with Puccini (offscreen), with Hob handing over a large potion bottle to Nak.
Nak: "<Plenty of time to observe us.>"
Hob: "<Listen in on our plans.>"

Panel 2
In a wide shot, Nak - lost in thought - was about to take a drink of the potion but pauses with a concerned look. The gobo's memories of past private discussions and scheming with Nik and Hob are visualized, memories that set the rest of the conversation into the background.
Puccini, offscreen: "Hence the precautions. Unlike my tower, this tavern's unguarded. They could've even tracked back and spied on us before we got to town. So skilled at stealth, this adversary could get right next to us without our knowing."
Hob, offscreen: "<We'll need to be more alert. But besides that...>"

Panel 3
The view shifts back to the two gobos sitting in front of the bed, with Hob - eyes still on Puccini (offscreen) - lifts up a spoonful of stew to enjoy, and Nak adding affirmation to their thoughts, having not moved while engaged in thought.
Hob: "<...we must assume they've heard everything so far.>"
Nak: "<Yes...>"
