“Sinister Smirk” Nob slithered and slunk, with a smile most unpleasant, around the whole room, and took every present!

Okay, Nob isn’t Dr. Seuss’s Grinch, but there is a certain common vibe there. Only at the end did the Grinch’s heart grows three times in size. I like to think that Nob’s is just as big in the beginning. There’s just a lot of… unscrupulous thoughts and schemes that are pop up between point A and B. If you celebrate Christmas – or any holiday during this time of year – I hope it was/is merry.

Puccini, thinking: "No, we were not indulging vices. We had spotted your attacker."

...the wizard is actually looking through the eyes of Whiskit (offscreen), who is acting as a conduit so that he may speak and listen to as well as see Nob. Both the homunculus and gobo are in a room at Puccini's tower. Nob is quiet, surprised by the news...
Puccini, transmission: "We were devising a plan to capture them."
Nob, muttering: "<You found them...>"

Panel 3
...but starts to lean in with interest as the gobo poses a question to the wizard through Whiskit (offscreen)...
Nob, muttering: "<Very good! When are you going to launch your attack?>"

Panel 4
...and becomes mischievously gleeful, wringing hands with a sinister smirk when the reply is given.
Puccini, transmission: "If we are lucky, tomorrow night."
