“Metal Wrought Like Fishes’ Mail” Of all the taverns in all the towns in all the world, they got a room next to mine. While one of the Party of Adventurers™ members is staying with extended family, the rest are staying at the White Bear. There was a clue at the start of the chapter, did you catch it? Speaking of clues, I think the Soldier has put two and two together. She clearly remembers the first time they encountered the gobos!

What does this all mean for our half dozen? I would have said “come back in 2024 to find out” but this year-ending cliffhanger is a bit off-schedule. Typically, I take one or two weeks off and start posting the first week of the new year. I am going to try to keep the momentum going and post the “first comic of 2024” next week. Hope to see you there.

Be careful out there.

A large angled view of the back wall of the White Bear's balcony, shows the Soldier in the process of stepping out of the nearest room, leaving the Mage to decipher a scroll. Both are turned so the viewer does not get a look at their faces. The Soldier has put a hand on the door jam, peering around its corner down the hallway towards the next room, it's door held open for Wak by Hob. Wak is halfway in and Hob's back is turned to the the Soldier (and the viewer) but a thought bubble reveals that she has a good idea who it is, despite the illusory disguise the two wear. Her memory is of Hob - in true form - being caught in the act of gathering coins from a chest.
